S1000D

Protech supports a number of different engineering industries, but our main focus is in the aerospace world.
S1000D is an international specification for the production of technical publications. It originated in the aerospace and defence industries to facilitate the sharing and use of product life cycle data. This standard is now used by various industries including shipbuilding, civil aerospace, nuclear, rail, and automotive.
S1000D defines a common standard that ensures all technical documentation is uniform and can be easily shared and understood. The specification includes a detailed methodology for describing the structure of an object (product or system) from any aspect of its life cycle.

ATA iSpec 2200 is a global aerospace industry standard for the content, structure, and electronic exchange of aircraft engineering and maintenance information. It was established by the Air Transport Association (now known as Airlines for America).
This standard provides guidelines for creating, managing, and delivering technical publications in aerospace. It covers areas such as aircraft maintenance, overhaul procedures, testing procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

While STE was initially designed for the aerospace and defence industries, it has since been adopted by many other industries because of its effectiveness in improving clarity and comprehension in technical documentation.
